OSCE Preparation Course

OSCE Preparation

What is the OSCE?

The OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) is the in-person clinical competence assessment required as part of the Nursing Council of New Zealand’s (NCNZ) registration pathway. It tests your ability to demonstrate safe, competent nursing practice across simulated clinical stations — covering patient assessment, communication, clinical reasoning, and professional judgement.

Unlike the Theory Exam, the OSCE can’t be studied from a textbook. It requires practised, hands-on performance under timed, examination conditions — which is exactly why so many internationally qualified nurses find it the harder of the two stages.

Realistic Station Simulation

Practice sessions built around real NZ OSCE station formats, not generic clinical scenarios

Realistic Station Simulation

Work through the same station types, timing, and structure you'll face on exam day, so nothing feels unfamiliar

NZ Communication Standards

Learn the communication style and patient interaction NZ examiners expect to see

NZ Communication Standards

Practise explaining care, escalating concerns, and engaging patients the way NZ clinical culture — not your home country's — expects.

Clinical Reasoning Under Pressure

Build decision-making skills that hold up when the clock is running.

Clinical Reasoning Under Pressure

Move beyond memorised scripts to genuine reasoning, so you can adapt when a station doesn't go exactly as rehearsed

NZ-Registered Nurse Tutors

Trained and given feedback by nurses who've worked inside the NZ healthcare system

NZ-Registered Nurse Tutors

Get corrections and coaching from tutors who know exactly what NZ examiners are marking for — not secondhand advice

Why NZ-Focused OSCE Prep Matters

Practised for NZ Standards, Not Rehearsed From Scripts
Every station is built around what NZ examiners actually assess — not memorised answers that fall apart under pressure.

Step-by-step guide

How learners use the IQN theory stage.

Move from learning the content to testing your readiness in a sequence that always makes the next step clear.

What's Included

  • Station-by-station practice

Work through individual stations repeatedly, building timing, confidence, and muscle memory for each scenario type

  • Communication coaching

Structured feedback on patient interaction, escalation, and documentation — the areas most candidates lose marks on

  • Realistic exam conditions

Timed, simulated assessment environments so exam day feels familiar, not foreign

  • Personalised feedback

Direct coaching from NZ-registered nurse tutors on where your performance needs work

  • Cultural safety in practice

Cultural safety isn't a separate module here — it's built into how you're coached to communicate and assess patients

Who This Is For

Frequently Asked Questions

Typically yes — NCNZ's competence assessment pathway generally requires the IQN theoretical examination before the OSCE stage, though your specific pathway may vary

OSCE preparation is delivered face-to-face in the Philippines, so you get realistic, hands-on simulation before travelling to NZ.

Sessions are led by NZ- registered nurses and built around actual NZ OSCE station formats and communication expectations - not adapted from a multi-country curriculum

Our preparation is designed to build genuine readiness rather than guarantee a pass — the Nursing Council allows multiple attempts within a set timeframe, and we're happy to discuss additional support if needed.

Yes — face-to-face OSCE simulation is part of both packages. Elite adds additional sessions and more personalised, one-on-one feedback.
